Witch and Wizard

This book by James Patterson is A-MAZ-ING! Whit and his sister Whisteria are taken to jail for being a Witch and Wizard. They try to stop the evil dictator that is trying to take over more worlds than one. They break kids out of jail, get thrown in a couple times, and ultimatly try to do the right thing, even if the general public wants to burn them on the stake. This is a very exiting and action packed book full of love, heart break, and unimaginable strength. I loved it. DOUBLE THUMBS UP!

Emerald Atlas

The book Emerald Atlas by John Stephens was one of the best books I've ever read. It's about three children, Kate Micheal and Emma, who's parents abandoned them when they were almost too young to remember. They are sent from orphenage to orphenage because they simply do not want to get adopted. The reason they wont let anyone adopt them is because of a promise that their mother had said to Kate before the kids were taken away. They get sent to an orphanage in Cambrige Falls where they discover a magical world that lies just beyond the eyes of humans. The mysterios Dr. Pym turns out to be a wizard and the three children find his magic book that can take you through time. They travel accidentally and when they try to get back, Kate and Emma leave Micheal behind by mistake. They try to get him back and find out that he had made a deal with the evil Countess who kidnapped all the children. Kate and Emma get Micheal back but then the book disapears. While trying to find the real book, they end up going on a quest to save Cambrige Falls so it doesn't end up cursed and in the hands of the Kookie Countess. I give this book a double thumbs up. Never before had I heard of people traveling through time using pictures and so it was really cool to see that because it isn't ordinary.

Wonderstruck

The book Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick is a truly wonderful book. It tells two different stories, both set fifty years apart. One is about Ben who's mother dies in a car accident and while in her room, he discovers a bookmark with the name number and address of a man whom Ben believes is his father. He tries to call the number but gets electricuted by lightning through the phone and ends up deaf in both ears (he was borne deaf in one ear). He decides to set off on an adventure to find his father in New York City and ends up finding a friend and his grandmother Rose instead. The other story tells about a little girl named Rose who lives outside NYC and is deaf in both ears. One day, she runs away from her father and tuter to go see her mother in New York City. Her mother is an actress. When Rose's mother discovers Roses presence, she tells her to stay in a room while she finds someone to take her home. Rose does not want to go home so she runs away and finds herself at the Museum of Natural History where her older brother happens to work. Her brother finds her and agrees to let her come live with him. In the end, the two stories come together beautifully. I was truly "Wonderstruck" when I was finnished reading it. I give Wonderstruck a double thumbs up.

Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry

Roll of Thunder, Hear my cry by Mildred D. Taylor is about a girl named Cassie Logan and her family. It takes place back when African-Americans were not thought of as equals to White Americans. Cassie and her brothers are sick of being treated badly and even take revenge on a white bus. There are many ups and downs, all the while, the Logans are trying to keep their family's land. It wasn't a very good book at all. I found it boring and relitivly hard to focus on. It did not grab my attention like good books should. I give Roll of Thunder a thumbs down.

Maximum Ride

The Maximum Ride series by James Patterson is about a group of mutant bird kids, Maximum (Max) Ride age 14, Iggy (James) Griffiths age 14, Fang age 14, Nudge (Monique) age 12, The Gasman (Gazzy) age 9, and Angel age 8, who escape from a science lab with the help of a scientist, Jeb Batchelder. The end up living in Colorado but Jeb disappears. They flock assume he is dead and never speak of him, until the Erasers show up and ruin their lives, again. The head eraser is Jeb's son Ari who was expiremented on when his father left the lab. As it turnes out, Jeb was never good and becomes their enemy. All the while Max is stuck with her impossible destiny of saving the world from an evil coorperation that she doesn't even know. I recomend this book to anyone and everyone all ages. It get's a big double thumbs up from me. It is absolutly amazing how James Patterson can get into his characters minds and really set the book on fire. I am so in love with this book that it's almost unhealthy.

The Lightning Theif

I have to say, The Lightning Theif by Rick Riordan is my favorite seiries of ALL time! I loved these books and have read them many times. It's about a boy named Percy Jackson who is the son of Posiedon. He goes to this camp, Camp Half Blood, makes new friends, and goes on insane quests to save Olympus and the gods. Percy faces many challenges and deceptions along the way and all the time, he has the Great Prophacy bearing down on him. It was a fabulous book filled with exciting twists, unexpected turns, and skeleton hippie oracles. I give it a big double thumbs up. I dont know how Rick Riordan ever thought of all this but i am SO glad that he did!

Relic Masters The Dark City

I thought that this book was fantastic! In this book, a keeper named Galen Harn and his scholar Raffeal travel toTasceron, once a city of the makers in prosuit of a Sekoi. But is there something more? They find more than they had expected, the house of trees and most of all, the crow. They make new friends and enemys, one in particular, a Watchspy named Carys Ann, who is both a friend, and the enemy. It is an absolutely riveting book that I found impossible to put down. The author Cathrine Fisher has really outdone herself with this four book series. I give it a double thumbs up. It was cool to see all of the magic that she put into the story.
